Is this the messiest takeoff ever? Russian propeller plane struggles on mudbath runway

This might just be the messiest takeoff ever.

A video of a Russian propeller plane ploughing down an extremely muddy runway before taking to the skies is well worth a watch.

Kicking up some real dirt, the plane slips and slides for 45 hair-raising seconds before taking off to destinations unknown.

The plane is a UTAir Antonov An-24 and it was taking off from the town of Bodaybo, according to American blog NYC Aviation.

Blog writer Matt Molnar goes on to explain that while the video was uploaded recently, the footage may have been taken several years ago.

He told Yahoo! News: "I've seen a good number of crazy takeoffs, but nothing like this.

"There's significant danger here of the plane skidding off the runway, of the engines getting clogged with mud, of damaging the landing gear and the mud splatters affecting the plane's controls once it gets airborne."

It could not be confirmed if the plane got a good wash when it eventually landed.
