Is this the scariest tree ever?

A sight for sore eyes! ‘Grumpy old woman’ tree spooks Essex road

With a little imagination this huge oak tree appears to be reaching out, arms outstretched towards passersby.

Found down a country lane in Essex it looks like a prop for a fantasy film and has even been named the “Lord of the Rings tree” as it looks like the Ents tree characters that come alive in the film.

Many locals have taken to the haunting silhouette which is found in Boxted near Colchester.

Local artist Charlotte Laurie, 84, said: “It looks like a really grumpy old woman. It’s a wonderful thing to look at.

“The head is down and the arms are stretched out, it’s a wonderfully old tree.”

The tree isn’t entirely uninviting either, as Miss Laurie added that it has a regular visitor – a little owl.

Personally I think shagging a tree beats shagging a woman, apart from the splinters.

... for that it would be necessary to execute the tree and then saw it in half ... tree murder is still a crime, the sentence is five hundred years ... that's tree years, creep.
