Japan Upgrade Womens Football Team Flight After Winning A Medal

Japan's womens football team have been rewarded for their success at London 2012 with a flight upgrade on their return home.

The Japanese FA were accused of sexism after the womens team flew to the Games in Economy Class while the mens team were put in Business Class seats on the same plane.

The girls are guarenteed at least a silver medal after winning their semi final and have now been promised an upgrade providing there is room to do so.

Coach Norio Sasaki said: "The Japan Football Association is trying to work something out. When we came here we came in premium economy and there wasn't a problem.

"The problem is when we go back there will probably not be enough business seats available. If that's the case we will be in premium again. If you look at the way we played then you will see that we are very patient and would put up with economy."
