Jennifer Aniston, 43 received a shiny star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in February. She's the first of a group of stars selected to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame according to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Each year the chamber invites a select group of motion picture, TV, radio and recording stars to receive their stars in a public ceremony. It's then up to the celeb to schedule an appearance. Who else is slated to earn permanent recognition on the corner Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street? The short list of honored stars for 2012 does not include Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt.
The girl next door was happy and glowing during the ceremony, which included a short speech by Aniston and an original song written about Aniston by her good friend, and fellow funny actor, Adam Sandler.
The former "Friends" star who does not always get rave reviews by critics continues to entertain and delight fans. She deserves the recognition of having her own star, which is something the California girl has dreamed about since she was a child, she said in her speech.
Who's Next in 2012?
While dates and times have not yet been scheduled for these celebs to receive their stars, they are on the list of honored recipients for 2012.
J.Lo should probably thank "American Idol" for helping her land firmly on her feet and come down to earth to get a star. The actress/singer/dancer/mom/business woman has increased her likability thanks to the show.
Blame it on "Titanic." Or not. Academy Award winner (for "The Reader") and nominee Kate has shown her acting range. She's played Ophelia in "Hamlet," a murderous teen in "Heavenly Creatures" and the unforgettable Rose in "Titanic."
She's not crying over ex-hubby Ryan Reynolds, she's destined for greater things, like a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Scar-Jo seems to cause two reactions: love and dislike. There's not denying that she nailed her role in "Girl With a Pearl Earring." For many people she's either fun to watch or fun to look at, or maybe both.
She's portrayed a non-nonsense cop, Detective Olivia Benson, on various incarnations of "Law & Order", including "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," (1992 to present) "Law and Order" (2000 to 2005) and "Law & Order" Trial By Jury" (2005). The 48-year old actress manages to pull of strong and vulnerable, authoritative and likable in her role. The should would not have been the same without her (and her amazing array of "copy me" hairstyles).
There's one particular stand-out guy on the list, Vin Diesel. This hard body is more than just the muscle behind the "Fast and Furious" racing franchise. He brings cult fans to dark places with Riddick. He also maintains a large fan base on Facebook where he actually interacts with the 30,767,364 (as of Feb. 29, 2012) fans that like his page. He'll post candid photos on his page. He also hosts the occasional live chat on his official website, where he'll do anything from eat a sandwich (saw it!) to work his famous growl for the begging fans.
