Kalidou Koulibaly's late winner against Juventus on Sunday triggered 'significant ground movement' back in Naples as fans celebrated wildly after the crucial header.

Koulibaly left it desperately late to score the goal that fired Napoli to a 1-0 victory and within a single point of reigning champions Juve ahead of the last four games of the campaign.

And the Euro-Med Seismological Centre, which monitors earthquake activity across Europe, registered a spike in seismic activity in Fuorigrotta, a suburb of Naples.

More than 10,000 fans waited outside the city's airport to welcome the team home from Turin in the early hours of Monday morning after Koulibaly's intervention reignited the title race.

Napoli are chasing their first Serie A title in 28 years and just their third ever, after previous title triumphs in 1987 and 1990.

Juve face a trickier run-in, too, with Champions League hopefuls Inter Milan and Roma providing league opposition in the next few weeks, while there is also the distraction of a Coppa Italia final against AC Milan.

Napoli will hope to capitalise on any slip-up by their title rivals when they tackle Fiorentina, Torino, Sampdoria and Crotone in their final fixtures.
