Police are searching for an attacker who karate kicked a traffic warden in the face, knocking him to the ground.
The victim was walking along a road in Leicester when three men began harassing him.
One spat before another stole his pencil, stepped back and kicked him in the face.
The warden needed hospital treatment for what police described as "nasty" injuries.
The three suspects have been described as white, of eastern European appearance and aged in their late-20s to early-30s.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which happened in Braunstone Gate, Leicester, on September 1 at around 12.10pm.
