King's Speech Star Meets Queen Down Under

Oscar-winning Australian actor Geoffrey Rush, who starred in the film The King's Speech, has met the Queen as she continues her tour of the country.

The movie star was with his wife at a private lunch for around 50 guests hosted by the Governor General in Canberra.

Geoffrey Rush played the therapist who helped the Queen's father King George VI overcome his stammer.

The Queen has previously been reported as saying she was "touched" by the film.

The guests also included legendary racehorse trainer Bart Cummings.

"Did you back a winner?" he asked the Queen referring to a recent race.

"I don't bet," came the reply.

Guests enjoyed a lunch of gravlax to start, followed by fillet of beef and panna cotta for dessert.

Earlier, the sun came out as Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh went to church.

They arrived at St John's Anglican Church in Canberra for morning worship, where they were greeted by hundreds of royal fans.

The Queen's primrose yellow outfit was the same as she wore for the recent wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The royal couple have a busy week ahead.

They will undertake a day trip to Brisbane on Monday before moving on to Melbourne and Perth.

On Saturday Her Majesty presented new royal colours to Australia's top military training college.
