A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 20-year-old was stabbed to death in northeast England.
Police and ambulance crews found Andrew Lucas with a number of injuries in Warkworth Close, Washington, where he lived, at around 3.40am on Saturday.
He was taken to hospital, but prounced dead.
Detectives launched a murder investigation and are holding a 45-year-old man in custody.
Patrols have been stepped up in the area following the stabbing.
Leading the investigation, Detective Chief Inspector Christina Barrett said: "We are still asking for people with information about this offence to come forward.
"The investigation is ongoing, however we have nothing to suggest that there is any wider danger to the public."
