    Man Charged With 18-Month-Old Boy's Murder

    A man has been charged with the murder of a toddler in Staffordshire, police have said.

    The 18-month-old boy, who has not been identified, was taken by paramedics from a house in Meir to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire on Friday but he could not be saved.

    Examinations showed he died as a result of head injury, a spokesman for Staffordshire Police said.

    The man, 32, was arrested with a 29-year-old woman who has since been released without charge.

    Neither has been named but both are from the Stoke-on-Trent area, police said.

    The force spokesman added that the woman will receive support from specially trained officers.

    The man has been remanded in custody to appear before magistrates in Stoke-on-Trent on Monday morning.

      That baby boy must have been so afraid. Adults are meant to protect not kill children. So desperately sad.

        I agree.....he must have been so afraid, even at the age of 18mths. I speak from very sad experience....my boyfriend attacked my toddler over twenty years ago. I finished with him instantly and reported him to the police.....even though I had no proof! My suspisions where good enough evidence for me!

        If I could just add.....my boyfriend was a childrens party entertainer, most days he was dressed up as a "turtle" and entertaining kids at their parties....only he wasn;t so friendly once he got home.

      since I cant possibly understand how someone could do this I have no idea what in my opinion should be done to him..... Would like to be locked in a small confined space with the thick useless spineless sack of **** for a few hours just to find out what if given the chance i would actually do,,,,,,,,, I doubt he would live but unlike the poor little guy he has mindlessly killed i dont suppose he would get much sympathy... RIP little guy....

        In all honesty I dont believe that violence is generally a solution to anything nor an appropriate form of punishment..... But in exceptional circumstances???

      What sort of a person could do this to a child? This man should be put into a cell with some huge prisoners and be given the same treatment that he dished out to his poor, defenceless toddler.

      Time to bring back death penatly. People shouldn't be able to take the life of someone without facing the consequences. Life for life.. Not 4years on good behaviour. How can an 18 mth old fight against a man 30+ yrs older than him.. RIP little one

      "Toddler dies of Head Injuries" I would kick the Fxxk out of this guy in the cell and give him head injuries that would give him a slow and aganising death, Hang him or parachute him to Afghanistan (Helmand Province)

      It absolutely disgusts me that 25 months ago this would be called abortion. And everyone would be fine with that wouldn't they! Babies should have human rights as soon as they are concieved and not allowed to be victims of their murderous morbidly selfish parents.

      A young child's life used to be so precious. What in hell is happening in this country? Why are so-called human beings using children for revenge - because I bet this is what has happened here again. I look at my own grandchildren and I despise these people.
