Country music star Randy Travis has been charged with driving while intoxicated after being found naked at the scene of a car crash.
The 53-year-old, regarded as one of the biggest names in US country music, had driven off a road near his home in Tioga, Texas, at around midnight on Tuesday.
Police say Travis was not wearing any clothes and that he made threats to kill highway patrol troopers who arrived on the scene and arrested him.
It is the second time Travis has been arrested this year - in February he was cited for public intoxication after being spotted in a vehicle parked in front of a church 20 miles from his home.
Travis has sold more than 25 million records since breaking through in the mid-1980s with 22 number one hits on the Billboard country charts and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
He starred alongside Matt Damon in the 1997 movie The Rainmaker and has featured in numerous US TV shows.
Travis has been involved in messy and very public court proceedings with his ex-wife Elizabeth. The couple divorced in 2010 after 19 years of marriage.
Earlier this year Elizabeth, who had been his manager for more than three decades, filed a lawsuit claiming that he had made it impossible for her to do her job and terminated her management contract without proper notice.
She said her ex-husband sent several men, including an armed guard, to clean out her offices.
Randy Travis countersued in May, accusing his ex-wife of divulging confidential information about him in order to damage his reputation and career.
The court documents don't say what information Elizabeth Travis is alleged to have betrayed.
Following his latest arrest, Travis was released on \$21,500 bail pending a court appearance.
A spokesman for the star said there would be no immediate comment on the arrest.
