Navigon iPhone app brings Google Street View into the mix

Navigon's iOS app just got a little bit cooler thanks to an update that sees Google's Street View included in the mapping application.

Navigon version 2.1 also enables users to block off sections of a map that you don't wish to travel through, with a simple tap of your finger. For example, if you know a certain area of the M4 gets clogged up around 5.30pm on a Friday, tap that area and the Navigon app will reroute missing out that particular area.

Garmin has also introduced a new add-on to the Navigon app. Available as an in-app purchase for £2.49 (reduced from £4.99 until 16 July), the 'Cockpit' feature, displays information such as altitude, compass, speed and even horizontal and vertical position in a dashboard style akin to an airplane.

The Navigon British Isles version 2.1 app can be downloaded from iTunes to the iPad, iPhone or iPod now for £44.99, while a European version is also available. Current Navigon subscribers will receive the upgrade for free.
