Neil Young Snaps At Fans For Clapping At Gig

Fans of Neil Young were given a frosty reception by the singer when they started clapping along during one of his concerts.

The Canadian singer was performing at the famous Carnegie Hall in New York when he apparently told the audience off on a number of occasions.

When they started clapping along to Ohio, albeit a little off the song's beat, the 68-year-old is alleged to have shouted "Wrong!".

He reportedly stopped after playing a few bars and only continued when the audience had quietened down to a level he found acceptable.

"It’s something that you probably don’t know but there’s a hell of a distance between you and me," he snapped.

The veteran rocker became agitated again when audience members sitting on the balcony started talking as he tuned his harmonica.

"No, you paid real good money to get in here, so you should be able to listen to each other," Young is reported to have sarcastically said.

The musician is playing at the venue four times this week.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse will headline a show in London's Hyde Park on July 12 with special guests including The National and Tom Odell.
