One Direction's New Release Plans Sabotaged

One Direction have been forced to bring forward the radio debut of their new single - after it was leaked online.

The song, Live While We're Young, is being rushed out four days earlier than planned after an unauthorised "poor quality" version of the video appeared.

The band's bosses at Sony and Simon Cowell's Syco decided to act in response to the leak.

The chart-toppers told fans about the change with a message on Twitter.

A statement on their behalf said: "The band did not feel that it was right or appropriate for the fans to hear the track as this illegal upload, so they have responded quickly."

The group insisted they wanted their fans to see the video and hear the single "in the proper way". Both have now been aired officially.

They added: "We're really excited about LWWY - we've worked really hard on it and we can't wait for everyone to see and hear it."

The official release date is now September 30.

The track is the first single to be taken from the band's second album Take Me Home, which is out on November 12.

It has been barely two years since Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik shot to fame on ITV's X Factor.

They have had huge success on both sides of the Atlantic. Some industry observers estimate they have already made £100m for themselves and their backers.
