Carlos Emory's windmill slam with a little over a minute left put a giant exclamation point on Oregon's victory over Washington on Thursday night.
The two points hardly figured into the final outcome -- the Ducks had this one wrapped up by halftime, it seemed -- but it did help illustrate just how much fun Oregon had against the Huskies on their way to an 82-57 victory over the Pac-12 Conference leaders.
The UO bench erupted in celebration, and the crowd roared after Emory's dunk gave him a team-high 16 points in a blowout win that moved Oregon to 8-4 in conference play and dropped Washington to 9-3.
It also gave the Ducks a regular-season split with the Huskies, after Washington beat Oregon 76-60 on December 31.
I don't recall too many Ducks victories like this over the Huskies, at least not in basketball. After Emory's dunk, the UO student section -- The Pit Crew -- started chanting "Just like football!" It was tough to blame them for their obnoxious enthusiasm; Washington is typically a tough matchup for Oregon on the court, and came into Thursday night's game on a five-game winning streak.
But it just seemed like everything went right for Oregon on this night, as the Ducks hit 64.3 percent from the field in the first half. E.J. Singler, Devoe Joseph and Garrett Sim scored 13 points apiece for Oregon, which now plays host to Washington State on Saturday at Matthew Knight Arena.
