Parent Taken Hostage At French School

A parent has been taken hostage at a school in France, police say.

Children were intially among those being held by an armed man in Vitry-sur-Seine but were later freed.

A police official told AP that all the children at the complex, which includes a nursery and elementary schools, were safe.

French schools are on summer vacation but are running summer activities.
