Teen Party Stabbing: Footballer In Court

A footballer has been remanded in custody after being charged with the murder of a 15-year-old girl who was stabbed at a house at the weekend.

Andrew Hall, 18, who plays for Stoke City academy, is accused of killing Megan-Leigh Peat, from Westoning in Bedfordshire.

The teenager died after being stabbed at a house in Ailesbury Road in Ampthill at around 1.30am on Saturday.

Hall was taken to hospital after the incident where he received treatment for injuries while being kept under guard until well enough to be interviewed.

After being questioned at Greyfriars police station in Bedford about the fatal stabbing, he was charged with Megan's murder.

After a brief hearing at Luton Magistrates' Court Hall was remanded in custody to appear at Luton Crown Court on June 26.

In the days following her death, friends paid tribute to Megan.

Chelsie McAneny, 16, who was in lessons with Megan, said: "Everyone loved her, she was bubbly and popular and she stuck up for everyone, even when she was down.

"She was a party girl, she loved it. You could hear her a mile away. Everyone would say she was a good friend.

"She has been through a lot, which is not for me to go into, but she was proper strong."

Her friends said Megan had a boyfriend she had been with "on and off" for two years.
