Paul Potts: Filming My Biopic Was 'Bizarre'

Singer Paul Potts - who won the first series of Britain's Got Talent - says it was "a bit bizarre" watching James Corden re-enact a scene from his wedding day for an upcoming biopic.

The actor, writer and comedian is playing Potts in One Chance, a film about his rise to fame, which is due to be released later this year.

It is directed by David Frankel, whose work includes The Devil Wears Prada and Marley And Me.

Talking about the autobiographical film, Potts told Sky's Eamonn Holmes: "It's a bit bizarre to be honest.

"I remember watching them filming the wedding scene and I was sat next to David Frankel the director. Julie (Paul's wife) was sat on the other side and David noticed Julie had tears coming from her eyes and he said 'she looks really emotional'.

"'David,' I said, 'she's laughing her head off!"

Now filming has finished, Potts is starting to prepare for a new tour.

He will visit cities around the UK with the production Nights On Broadway: The Best Of Musicals, which also stars David Essex, Hayley Westenra and Ruthie Henshaw.

Talking about his love of music, Potts said musicals have often proved inspirational.

"I came across recordings of Phantom Of The Opera and Aspects Of Love, and because Love Changes Everything finishes with a long, high B flat, I always wanted to sing it.

"So I sang it having bought the book that day and loved it."

The tour starts in October.
