Borneo orangutans hang on for dear life as their forest home is bulldozed beneath them

Last week saw the dramatic rescue of orangutans from treetops in Borneo as their homes were bulldozed to make way for palm oil plantations. Some of the primates were pregnant or carrying their young on their backs, and charities now say the animals' plight is becoming desperate in the face of poaching and deforestation.
