UK riots in pictures

Rioting has broken out across the country for the last three nights after the shooting of Mark Duggan in Tottenham on Thursday evening. Disruption began on Saturday night as a group of around 300 gathered outside Tottenham police station demanding 'justice'. Looting and arson attacks ensued across Tottenham, Enfield, Walthamstow and Brixton on Saturday and Sunday with the Met police attempting to restore order. Unrest continued on Monday across London while parts of Birmingham, Liverpool, Nottingham and Bristol also saw trouble.

      This is like a war zone. These people say they're excluded from society and that's why they're rioting, but it's the honest hard-working tax-payers who'll pay to rebuild their torched communities. How many of the rioters work and pay tax? They already profit more from society than they could possibly begin to understand. There is no solution to this when it's driven by such ignorance.

        & the sh*theads will want jobs in the newly built shops that the taxpayers rebuild. When they don't get it they'll say they're being excluded & the cycle goes on. I say put all this vermin down - NOW!

      In Northern Ireland they would be blasting those scum with Water canons and shooting them with rubber bullets....and I thought Northern Ireland is a part of the UK. Why is it OK to do that there but not in England?!

        Do you not have any other opinions? What I want to know is why during protests against the war in Iraq or the G12 summit or whatever, the police were all lined up and charging at the protesters, beating passers by etc, but this lot are looting and setting fire to things, where are the tough guy antics now? Why are the police being more lenient against real criminals than they were against political protesters? I think they were well up for it when it was a bunch of middle age hippies, but now it looks a bit tasty they don't fancy it so much.

        It's political...all down to political correctness over the skin colour ond social standing of the rioters this time as opposed to the ones who are involved in the G12 protests.

        I think you'll find it is more to do with the fact that the protesters were attacking the establishment where as this lot are attacking fellow Londoners.
