Hundreds of players joined in the annual Ashbourne Shrovetide Football game. The traditional game is played on Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday and sees the town divide into two teams - Up'ards and Down'ards depending on which side of the River Henmore they were born. Hindu holy men shout religious hymns on the banks of the Ganges after taking a dip during the third grand bath day at the festival Kumbh Mela in Allahabad, India. Millions of Hindus converge on the river banks for 55 days every 12 years to bathe in the holy river. A makeshift sprawling city of tents, hospitals and food centres the size of Athens accommodate the people who gather at the Ganges. More than 200 countries joined in the global 'One Billion Rising' campaign which aims to stamp out violence against women. According to the UN, one in three women will experience violence at some point in their lives - that's one billion people.
