The Mary Rose: Tudor warship on display provides snapshot into past

Part of the impressive Tudor warship, the Mary Rose, is on display in Portsmouth. The powerful might of the ship used to fight off a French invasion in 1545 is humanised by the incredible tragedy of 500 men and boys who perished in the Solent. Cannons, guns, nit combs, a chef's chopping board and soft leather shoes are in glass cases in the museum along with the skeleton of 'Hatch', the ship's dog, along with facial reconstructions of some of the crew.
