An earthquake-damaged tower block in Christchurch, New Zealand has been reduced to rubble in a controlled explosion.
Demolition experts used 60kg (130lb) of explosives to blow up Radio Network House, which was damaged beyond repair when a 6.1 magnitude quake struck the city last year.
Six-year-old Jayden Halliwell, who suffers from kidney cancer, pressed the button to trigger the blast.
Watched by hundreds of onlookers, the 14-storey tower tumbled to the ground in just a few seconds.
The demolition is the first of its kind in the city since authorities began the task of bringing down hundreds of irreparably damaged buildings.
The quake affected around 1,400 buildings and killed 185 people, although there were no fatalities in Radio Network House.
