Rebecca's Killer Was 'Devil In Disguise'

The family of Rebecca Aylward, who was lured into a wood by her former boyfriend and bludgeoned to death with a rock, say he should pay with his own life.

Despite his pleas of innocence, they say 16-year-old Joshua Davies is an "evil" and calculating killer and death is the only fitting punishment in his case.

Sonia Oatley, her son Jack and daughter Jessica were speaking to Sky's Midlands correspondent Lisa Dowd as Davies was sentenced.

The judge at Swansea Crown Court jailed him for an indeterminate period, saying he would have to serve at least 14 years.

Davies had joked with his friends about killing Rebecca, 15, before murdering her in woodland near Bridgend in South Wales.

Like everyone who knew him Rebecca's family say they never for a moment suspected he had a murderous streak.

They shared the view he was an intelligent and charming young man, not the "devil" he turned out to be.
