Harry Redknapp says he would consider becoming the next England manager and is flattered to be linked with the position.
The Tottenham boss admits it is the ultimate job, but doesn't think combining roles is a good idea.
Redknapp said: "It's hard enough managing Tottenham. For anybody to try and do two jobs, I'd say that would be very difficult."
"I can't take my eye off the ball at Tottenham at the moment because we're looking to get Champions League football, we're still in the FA Cup, and I owe it to them to continue to keep completely focused on the job I'm doing here."
He added: "It wouldn't be easy (leaving Spurs). It would be very difficult. I'm happy, but if the opportunity comes, and I get asked, I'll have to consider it."
The Football Association are meeting to draw up a shortlist for the vacant position following Fabio Capello's resignation.
Redknapp has received huge backing from across the country to take the position.
England internationals Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand have backed him for the position and a host of Premier League managers have also tipped him.
