Robber literally shoots himself in foot during bank raid

A hapless robber accidentally shot himself in the foot during a bank hold-up in Brazil.

The footage, caught on a security camera last week, shows a man wearing a hat and sunglasses guarding the entrance of the bank in the state of Parana while his accomplices raid the vault.

Holding two guns, the weapon in his right hand suddenly goes off and the bungling thief falls to the floor in pain.

His accomplices quickly leave the bank vault clutching money bags. They make a dash for the exit while the bungling robber is seen hobbling out on his injured foot.

He then compounded his error, by going for treatment at a nearby hospital where he was immediately arrested. Police are still searching for the rest of the gang.
