Robbery Foiled By Gun-Toting US Pensioner

A courageous pensioner has foiled two American teenagers' attempt at an armed robbery in a dramatic incident caught on CCTV.

The 19-year-olds burst into an internet cafe in Florida - one armed with a gun and the other with a baseball bat - and began holding up customers.

But the pair had not reckoned with 71-year-old Samuel Williams, who leapt from behind his computer screen and began firing at them with his own pistol.

The duo fled and tumbled over each other as he continued firing - before both were arrested for attempted armed robbery.

Police said Mr Williams held a concealed firearms licence and Bill Gladson of the Marion County State Attorney's Office said the shooting appeared justified.
