    Rocky Mountain Tubing Hills

If your kids are tired of the neighborhood snow hill, pack them up and head to the Colorado Rockies.

Here are five Colorado tubing hills that offer fast runs and convenient lifts that carry you and your tube up the hill:

    1. Colorado Adventure Park. Fraser, Colorado. This is a new snow park that offers tubing at $16 per hour, air boarding at $20 per hour, and snow scooting at $10 per 10 minutes (snow scooting is snowmobiling for little ones as young as 6 and weighing up to 130 pounds). It offers free sledding with complimentary sleds on a kid-friendly hill. It is located just off of Highway 40 and County Road 72. Its hours are from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.

    2. Fraser Tubing Hill. Fraser, Colorado. This tubing hill has been open for over 38 years. It offers tubing at $16 per hour or $20 for 90 minutes. Little ones as young as three can tube on this historic hill. Rental rates are charged on a per tube basis. Thus, siblings and friends can share the cost of one tube for a more economical experience. It is located just off of Highway 40 and County Road 72. Its hours are from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.

    3. Copper Mountain Tubing Hill. Copper Mountain, Colorado. This tubing area is part of the Copper Mountain Ski Resort. It offers four lanes of banked curves and jumps. Tubers must be 36" tall to participate. For the shorter snow enthusiast, there is Critterland, a really fun area with a tubing carousel, snow fort and snow tunnels, and a tiny snow hill to tube down. This fun area for little ones is only $10 a day. Tubing for everyone else costs between $20 and $29 an hour, depending on the time of year, resident status, and whether you pre-pay. Copper Mountain is located 75 miles west of Denver off of I-70 at exist 195. It is open at 11 a.m. every day and stays open until 4, 6 or 7 p.m., depending on the day of the week and the time of year.

    4. Vail Mountain Adventure Ridge. Vail, Colorado.

Vail has joined the tubing craze with their multi-lane hill featuring music on the hill and a covered, dedicated lift that brings you and your tube back up the hill. You have to be at least 42" tall to tube on their hill and kids 5 and under must be with an adult. Tubing costs $30 per hour. Vail is located 100 miles west of Denver, just off of I-70. It is open from 10:30 until 7 p.m. (Tuesday through Saturday) and 10:30 until 4:30 (Sunday/Monday).

    5. Keystone Mountain Adventure Point. Keystone, Colorado.

Keystone offers tubing during the day and at night. You have to be at least 42" tall to tube there. Tubing is $31 per hour. It is located off of Highway 6 just past the town of Keystone.
