The Evening Standard has a great spot today. Singer and tabloid 'darling' of the moment Lily Allen has written on her Myspace page that she wants to organise an anti-knife crime concert - with the help of Boris Johnson. She writes: "Please can everyone stop stabbing each other in the UK. "We need to have a knife amnesty, we should put on a big concert to raise awareness and stop the violence. Boris, if you're listening, call me man!" Over at the London Mayor's office it seems Boris is "encouraged" to hear the singer is speaking out against violence... but doesn't go as far as saying: 'That's a fabulous idea Lilleth, let's do it!' It's a commendable suggestion by Lily, but do these kinds of concerts actually make any difference anymore? I'm just about old enough to remember Live Aid and the impact it had back in the 80s... but what about Live 8?
