White House says Hezbollah must stop "disruptive" acts

CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - The White House on Thursday demanded Hezbollah stop "disruptive activities" in Lebanon after the Iranian-backed group began a new street campaign aimed at challenging the U.S.-backed government.

"Hezbollah needs to make a choice: be a terrorist organization or be a political party, but quit trying to be both," said White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe. "They need to start playing a constructive role and stop their disruptive activities now."
