Seven Cameroon Athletes Go 'Missing'

Seven athletes from Cameroon have disappeared from the Olympic village, according to officials.

All seven had visas allowing them to stay in the UK until November, though there are no reports any have claimed political asylum. The seven include five boxers, a swimmer and a footballer.

Team Cameroon's David Ojong told Cameroon media that of 60 athletes and officials at the village, 28 have gone home, 24 are still there and seven have just disappeared.

The missing athletes include all five of the team's boxers - Thomas Essomba, Christian Donfack Adjoufack, Abdon Mewoli, Blaise Yepmou Mendouo and Serge Abomo.

The others are Drusille Ngako, 25, a standby goalkeeper for Cameroon's women's team, and swimmer Paul Ekane Edingue, 21.
