Charlie Sheen has apologised to Ashton Kutcher for making scathing remarks about his performance in Two And A Half Men.
The actor , who was sacked from the hit comedy last year, said in an interview he was "tired of pretending Ashton doesn't suck!"
He also critcised the programme, adding: "It's nothing personal ... I just feel bad for him ... he's saddled with such bad writing."
But the Wall Street star has since backtracked, admitting he had been "disgraceful".
In a letter posted on his website , he said: "Dear Ashton - My bad. I was disrespectful to a man doing his best. I got excited and threw you into a crossfire but the rest of my statement I stand behind. You, however, deserve better."
Kutcher joined the comedy series last September, playing billionaire Walden Schmidt.
Sheen's character in Two And A Half Men, Charlie Harper, was killed off after the actor made derogatory remarks about series creator Chuck Lorre during his public meltdown a year ago.
While starring in the show, Sheen was the highest paid actor on American television commanding a reported £800,000 an episode.
He is currently working on a new show, Anger Management, loosely based on the 2003 film of the same title which starred Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson.
Sheen, who is also a producer on the show, will play an anger-management therapist who has to deal with a variety of eccentric clients.
