Sheryl Crow Threats: Stalker Kept At Bay

Sheryl Crow has won a restraining order against a man who publicly threated to shoot her.

The nine-time Grammy-winner was granted a temporary order against Phillip Gordon Sparks after saying she was afraid of him.

Crow, 50, wrote in a sworn statement that she feared Sparks after he claimed in an online tirade that the singer-songwriter had stolen money from him and broken into his house.

She also stated Sparks recently told a worker at an entertainment union that he was going to "just shoot" her.

The order, which requires Sparks to stay 100 yards (90m) away from Crow, will also extend to her family members, employees and her two young sons, aged five and two.

Another hearing on a three-year order is scheduled for mid-August.

Crow has recently been told she has a tumour on her brain. Doctors say she does not need surgery but the tumour is being monitored.

The singer, who shot to fame with her song All I Wanna Do, has previously beaten breast cancer.
