Shock Defeats For Chelsea, Man City And Saints

Bradford To Face Either Sunderland Or Fulham

Chelsea, Manchester City, Southampton and Tottenham have all been dumped out of the FA Cup with shock home defeats.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho branded his team's 4-2 defeat to League One's Bradford City a "disgrace" after they took a 2-0 lead at Stamford Bridge but saw their hopes of a "quadruple" end in dramatic fashion.

Goals from Gary Cahill (21) and Ramires (38) put the Blues in control, but Jon Stead pulled a goal back for the Bantams before the break.

Bradford then stunned the Blues with three goals in the second half - the first from former Chelsea trainee Filipe Morais in the 75th minute.

Andy Halliday fired City ahead with eight minutes remaining and then Chelsea's first home defeat of the season was sealed when substitute Mark Yeates' stoppage-time goal sparked wild celebrations from Phil Parkinson's men and the visiting fans.

It is the first time Chelsea have lost to lower-league opposition at home since 1995 against Millwall.

Manchester City, currently second behind Chelsea in the Premier League, were also sent crashing out of the FA Cup after losing 2-0 at home to Middlesbrough.

City, who only returned from their training camp in Abu Dhabi on Friday, were caught cold in the 53rd minute when Boro striker Patrick Bamford, who is on loan from Chelsea, took advantage of a defensive misunderstanding.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side pushed hard for an equaliser, but the Championship side held firm with goalkeeper Tomas Mejias producing several smart saves.

City substitute Frank Lampard almost earned a replay when his deflected 89th-minute shot hit the post, but Kike raced onto Bamford's pass in the dying moments to wrap up the win for Boro.

Southampton, who are third in the Premier League, also bowed out after losing 3-2 at home to Crystal Palace.

All five goals were scored in the first half at St Mary's, with Palace twice coming from behind before taking the lead for good through Marouane Chamakh's second goal in the 39th minute.

Chamakh's first goal had cancelled out Graziano Pelle's ninth-minute opener and Yaya Sanogo also scored for the Eagles after Scott Dann's own goal.

The win continued Alan Pardew's 100% start as Palace manager and ended Saints' eight-match unbeaten run.

Sixth-placed Tottenham were another team to suffer at home as the Premier League's basement side Leicester City came from behind to win 2-1 at White Hart Lane.

Spurs went ahead from the penalty spot after 19 minutes through Andros Townsend, but the Foxes' industry was rewarded with seven minutes left when Leonardo Ulloa swept the ball home.

There was then drama in stoppage time when Michel Vorm allowed a scuffed shot from Jeff Schlupp to squirm over the line.

Liverpool must contest a replay away to Bolton in a few weeks' time after a frustrating goalless draw at Anfield.

Emile Heskey made an emotional return to the home of his former club and caused problems for the Reds up front with Eidur Gudjohnsen in the first half, with the latter twice going close.

But the likes of Raheem Sterling, Jordan Henderson and Philippe Coutinho could not beat the impressive Adam Bogdan in the Bolton goal as they piled on the pressure late on.

Swansea, ninth in the top-flight, had earlier lost 3-1 to Championship side Blackburn at Ewood Park in the lunchtime kick-off.

The Swans had Kyle Bartley sent off early on, but Gylfi Sigurdsson, who also saw red in the closing stages, put them ahead in the 21st minute only for Chris Taylor to equalise two minutes later, and late goals from Rudy Gestede and Craig Conway sent Rovers through.

Sunderland were held to a goalless draw at home by Championship side Fulham after playing the final 24 minutes with only 10 men following Jack Rodwell's dismissal for two bookable offences.

West Brom made it through to the fifth round with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Birmingham at St Andrew's.

A quickfire first-half brace from Victor Anichebe put the Baggies in control, but Jonathan Grounds pulled a goal back just before the break for City and Albion were forced to repel a second-half onslaught to remain unbeaten under Tony Pulis.

Darren Bent scored his first goal for Derby but the Championship promotion chasers were given a real scare by League One Chesterfield before they won a pulsating tie 2-0 at the iPro Stadium.

The Spireites dominated possession for long periods and wasted good chances before Will Hughes sealed victory for the Rams with a late solo effort.

Hal Robson-Kanu booked Reading's place in the fifth round with a late winner in a 2-1 victory at Cardiff.

Wales international Robson-Kanu, on as an 82nd minute substitute, swept home Jordan Obita's cross six minutes later after Oliver Norwood had cancelled out Kenwyne Jones' first-half header for the Bluebirds.

Diego De Girolamo scored his first goal for Sheffield United as last season's semi-finalists earned a replay with a 1-1 draw at Preston, who had led through Paul Gallagher.
