Plane makes emergency landing at Shannon Airport

A passenger plane carrying 135 people has made an emergency landing at Shannon Airport.

The Continental Airline flight was on route from Barcelona to New Jersey in America when it suffered engine trouble.

One of the engines was shut down as a precaution and the plane landed safely just before 5 o' clock.

It underwent examination on the ground at Shannon Airport.
