Woman's body found at house in Westmeath

The body of a woman in her late 40s was found at a house in the midlands today.

Garda said the discovery was made at about 10am in Valley Court, Athlone, Co Westmeath.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination and the State Pathologist's office has been notified.

"The investigation into the circumstances of the death is continuing," a garda spokesman said.
