Little Lyvia Blaylock was part of the ultimate family portrait today - after appearing with all eight of her great-grandparents who boast a combined age of 701.

The newborn has already been hailed a miracle by her parents after doctors told them they had more chance of winning the lottery than conceiving.

But against all odds Becky gave birth in May - with everyone of the six-week old girl's great grandparents still alive.

They range between 82 and 92 and boast a combined age of 701.

And now Lyvia's parents, Lee Blaylock, 38, and Becky Bourton, 40, managed to get all of the great grandparents together for the first time.

Lee, a credit analyst, said: 'I don't know what the secret is to Lyvia's great grandparents. If I did I would probably try to bottle it up and sell it.

'They are amazing, they still drive are all still active and Gordon, who is 82, still plays squash.

'We are a close family on both sides and it is quite amazing that we're all so together.

'We'll make sure she's told about the day we got her eight great-grandparents together. They all had a really good time as well.

'Some of them hadn't met before and they all got on well. It was a fantastic evening and one to remember.'

All of the Blaylock and Bourtons live in and around Swindon.

At the head of the Blaylock family is Arthur, 87, and wife of 63 years, Norah, also 87.

Arthur served as a sergeant in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps from 1944 to 1947 before going to work at the family shoe shop, Blaylocks, in 1949.

Norah was a bookkeeper until she married, at which point she became a housewife.

Norman, 90, and Sylvia Wakeley, 89, are also Lee's grandparents.

Norman was a leading sick berth attendant tn the Royal Navy from 1942 until 1946 when he went to work for British Rail Engineering until retirement.

He married Sylvia, who worked in an aircraft factory, in 1946 and she became a housewife.

At the head of the Bourton family is Ron, 91 and June, 92, who married in 1947.

Ron was a Royal Marine from 1942 until 1945 and, after the war, became a mechanical engineer.

June was a cook in the RAF from 1941 until 1945 and later worked in Woolworths for 21 years as a supervisor.

Gordon, 82, and Elizabeth Lamprey, 83, are also Becky's grandparents.

Gordon was a sergeant of physical education in the army from 1953 until 1961 and he then went to work for the family business Snak Pak, which became part of the Smiths Crisp Group.

Elizabeth was a hospital maid until they got married in 1953 and then she became a housewife.

The family photo is something Lee and Becky didn't think would ever happen.

The couple, who have been together for 18 years, had been trying for children and after four failed attempts at IVF they all but gave up hope.

Lee said:  'We then had a meeting with one of the doctors who said we had more chance of winning the lottery than Becky failing pregnant.

'After getting use to the idea, which took sometime, we carried on with our lives.

'Anyway last September Becky wasn't feeling to well so she went to the Doctors and came home in tears - she was pregnant.

'Obviously this was a shock to both of us and Lyvia was born on May 25 weighing 6lb 10oz. We call her the miracle baby with eight great grandparents.’
