Tia Sharp: Stuart Hazell To Face Trial In May
The man accused of murdering schoolgirl Tia Sharp cannot be tried until the spring, a judge has ruled.
Stuart Hazell, from New Addington, south London, was not present for the hearing at the Old Bailey, at which Mr Justice Fulford fixed a trial date of May 7.
The 37-year-old is expected to enter a plea on March 8.
Hazell is charged with murdering 12-year-old Tia in August 2012.
The youngster's body was found at her grandmother Christine Sharp's home in New Addington a week after she was reported missing.
Hundreds of mourners dressed in black and pink lined the streets for her funeral in September.
