Top 5 Reasons Recruits Should Sign with Boise State Football in 2012

"The best way to get better is to study yourself. Our players and our coaches are always studying. We have that attitude. When you study, you know what to do, and when you understand your assignment, you play faster because you don't have to slow down to make decisions. We like to play at full speed."

So you're a high school star who is on the fence about signing with the Boise State Broncos football team?

Here are reasons that joining the list of solid recruits on National Signing Day--Feb. 1, 2012--will be among the best decisions a player can ever make:

    1) Chris Petersen:

He is arguably the best coach in college football today. Petersen has won more games than any active coach in the FBS. "Coach Pete's" record over the last six campaigns is 73-6. He's been honored with several prestigious awards for successfully leading the team on and off of the field.

    2) Stability: The Broncos are no longer a one-hit wonder as a result of the famous 2007 Fiesta Bowl. As the 2011 season came to a close, the Broncos became the first program in FBS history to win 50 games in four years. The team has finished in the top 11 of the Associated Press poll in each of the last four seasons. The 2012 squad looks to be a top contender to win its conference once again.

    3) A chance to contribute quickly: Lots of positions are up for grabs. The defense only returns three starters. All four starters from the defensive line have graduated and the team lacks a proven defensive end. Boise State needs to replace the quarterback who took almost every snap for the last four years, Kellen Moore. The Broncos also must also fill in holes left by two two stars, tailback Doug Martin and wide receiver Tyler Shoemaker.

    4) Big East in 2013: Playing at Boise State will give new players a chance for great national television exposure and competition. A long list of Boise players hit the NFL after playing in the WAC. How much more will that statistic increase, two years from now, as athletes develop in a stronger league with more resources and attention?

    5) Blue Astroturf: No other stadium in the world has a mat like Boise's. The unique field color not only invites fans, it scares opponents.

Play on the blue. Bleed blue. Sign with Boise State.

Fan Connection: I have lived near Boise more than four years and follow the Broncos.
