    Two Held Over Deaths Of Family In House Fire

    Two men have been detained in connection with the murders of a family in Helensburgh in Dunbartonshire.

    The men, aged 36 and 49, were detained following an operation by Strathclyde Police in the town.

    Three members of the Sharkey family were killed in a house fire on July 24 last year.

    Fifty-five-year-old Thomas Snr, 21-year-old Thomas Jnr and Bridget Sharkey, eight, died in the blaze.

    Only Angela, 46, survived the fire.

    The two men picked up by police have been detained in connection with the murder of the three deceased and with the attempted murder of Angela Sharkey.
