When it comes to celebrity pregnancies, 40 is the new 30!
Uma Thurman is the latest addition to the over-40 celebrity mom club following the news that she is expecting her third child later this year. The "Pulp Fiction" star is currently pregnant with her first child with boyfriend Arpad Busson. The new addition will join her children, Maya, 13, and Levon, 10, from her marriage to actor Ethan Hawke.
With the revelation of her pregnancy, the actress joins a group of celebrity moms who have decided to have babies after the age of 40. Here are a few of the stars who had a baby after the big 4-0:
Kelly Preston: The actress and her husband, John Travolta raised more than a few eyebrows when they announced that she was expecting their third child in 2010. The couple had wanted a baby since the death of their oldest son, Jett, in 2009. She delivered son, Benjamin, on November 23, 2010 at the age of 48.
Celine Dion: The singer had made no secret of her desire to have another baby since son Rene-Charles arrived in 2001. It took nearly a decade, five failed in-vitro treatments, and a miscarriage for the songstress to finally make her dream to expand her family come true. Her twin sons, Eddy and Nelson, made their grand arrival in October 2010 when their mom was 42 years old.
Halle Berry: She may be unlucky at love, but she made her dream of having a baby come true when she gave birth to her first child at the age of 41. After two failed marriages, the Oscar winner seemed to have found her happy ending with her then-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. The couple skipped marriage, but did welcome their daughter Nahla in March 2008. The couple called it quits two years later and have been going through a nasty custody battle ever since.
Nicole Kidman: For a while, she was living what appeared to be the dream life with former husband Tom Cruise and their adopted children Isabella and Connor. Things fell apart just shy of their ten year anniversary when he filed for divorce when the actress was three months pregnant. A miscarriage soon followed leaving the actress devastated. Fast forward a few years and she found her bliss again with new husband Keith Urban. She welcomed their first child, Sunday Rose, in July 2008 at the age of 40. Their second child, Faith Margaret, would arrive two years later via a gestational carrier.
Mariah Carey: The singer did her best to keep her over-40 pregnancy under wraps in 2010. After suffering a miscarriage in 2008 and undergoing hormone therapy to boost her fertility, the diva finally revealed she was expecting in October 2010. The diva-licious twins, Monroe and Moroccan, arrived in April 2011 when Mariah was 42 after a very difficult pregnancy.
