Cyrus afraid to let go of Disney role

By WENN world entertainment news - Wednesday, July 23 11:55 am

Teen star Miley Cyrus is terrified to let go of her alter-ego Hannah Montana because she's afraid fans will reject her when she pursues solo projects.

Cyrus is set to release her first solo album Breakout on Tuesday, a follow-up to two platinum selling Hannah Montana records.

And she admits the mega success of her Disney character has left her with some self-doubt.

She says, "To finally not be hiding behind a wig or being a character, it's like if no one shows up, as Hannah it's okay, it's a little bit better. If no one shows up, as Miley I'm like, 'Okay this is really going to hurt,' because these are songs that I've written that are really important to me and things that I want to say."
