It doesn't look like that date between Adam Levine and Jennifer Love Hewitt is ever going to happen: the sexy-voiced Maroon 5 singer basically turned down the actress during an appearance on "Ellen" last week.
It all started when "The Client List' actress revealed her crush on Levine during her appearance on DeGeneres' talk show. Word got out and Levine eventually heard about it.
"It was really sweet and flattering. Beautiful life, you know, when a beautiful woman says nice things about you," he told Ellen of the actress' "aggressive" crush. However, "The Voice" judge said he was "cool" when the talk show host offered to set them up on a date. Ouch.
Hewitt, for her part, was totally humiliated.
"The moment when you make a comment about something or someone and the world makes you feel like a total fool. #keepcrushesquiet," she tweeted. "Thank you to @adamlevine for being so gracious on Ellen about my crush heard round the world. I've learned a lesson.#Sssh."
Don't feel too bad, Jen: Joe Jonas apparently doesn't like forward girls, either.
Joe Jonas Turns Down Aggressive Girls
The Jonas Brothers singer was out with friends at Beacher's Madhouse at Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel last Thursday when a bunch of girls approached him. He apparently turned them all down, though.
"He was very friendly with the staff at the club who came to say hello," another clubgoer told People. "Throughout the night, he was approached by different women. Sometimes he was polite and other times he seemed more annoyed."
Why? They were obviously interested in him, said the source - but he wasn't interested back.
Why Don't Celebrities Like Aggressive Girls?
Countless magazine article have been written about why men want women to actually approach them for dates. The reason? It takes the pressure off the guys. However, it's probably different for celebrity men: they aren't exactly starving for female attention - instead, they have their pick of thousands of women, thanks to their celebrity status. This gives them room to be pickier about whom they choose to hook up with or date. Plus, it seems like many celebrity men are used to being in control about their careers and probably don't want to seem "submissive" by letting a woman choose him, rather than the other way around.
As for confident women like Jennifer Love Hewitt? Don't worry about it too much! You probably don't want to date someone who isn't into "aggressive" women anyway.
What do you think: Why don't some celebrity men like "aggressive" women?
