ABC has just announced the upcoming cast of "Dancing with the Stars," which includes the usual mix of singers, actors and athletes, as well as some faces that might not be familiar to American audiences. One such face (although a rather handsome one) is Telenovela super-star William Levy ("Triunfo del Amor".) The Cuban born actor and model is a sensation across the border, but has already started to cross over thanks to an appearance in the video for Jennifer Lopez's "I'm Into You." "Dancing" should give him the edge he needs to truly breakout, much like some notable contestants in past seasons. Here's a look at some of the past hotties that were able to make a splash.
"Sex and the City" fans were already taken by handsome French actor, who made quite an impression as Samantha's neighbor Dante in the first movie. He made an even bigger one when he stepped onto the dance floor in Season 8 with pro Cheryl Burke, showing that he had some moves to go along with his toned frame. Many thought he was going to take it all, yet that was not in the cards. The mirror ball was snatched up that year by gymnast Shawn Johnson in what was reportedly a very controversial vote.
Cristian de la Fuente
De la Fuente was already working steadily in American television on such shows as "Family Law," "CSI: Miami" and "Ugly Betty" before hitting the stage on "Dancing with the Stars," however he was probably one of those people you would recognize by the face and not the name. Combining good looks and a sense of humor, Cristian did well in the competition, finishing third behind Kristi Yamaguchi and Jason Taylor. Not a bad feat considering he injured himself on earlier in the competition.
Not a hottie in the traditional sense, this actor came on board as the token "Disney" star, but blew the audience away during his first cha cha with pro partner Lacey Schwimmer. Showing some decent moves and tons of charisma, Massey proved that you do not have to have a six pack body to do well in the competition, and managed to become a fan favorite. Massey may not have won the mirror ball (Jennifer Grey took the trophy that year), but he definitely won more than a few hearts along the way.
Who do you think will be the breakout star this year?
