With London 2012 just around the corner, Guinness World Records has decided to recognise another group of sporting heroes.

The Guinness World Records new e-book, Totally Bonkers Sporting Champions, showcases athletes who hold the world titles for the most outrageous and extreme events.

Among the wacky triumphs are New Zealander Veronica Torr's record for the fastest 100m hurdles wearing swim fins in 18.52 seconds and Keinichi Ito from Japan who ran the fastest 100m running on all fours in 18.58 seconds.

Guinness World Records, the global authority on record-breaking achievement, has unveiled the bonkers feats in an e-book which is available on iPad, nook and kindle.
