Yahoo! Reporter - FAQs
What is Yahoo! Reporter?
Yahoo! Reporter is a user generated content initiative that enables the Yahoo! Community to upload live or recorded video (and pictures) onto Yahoo! for publication by accessing a simple mobile app. The best and most relevant content is then selected and published.
Where can I get it?
The Yahoo! Reporter is a free application for iOS devices and is available to consumers in the UK, Spain and the Middle East through its respective iTunes stores.
Are there any special requirements to use Yahoo! Reporter?
All you need is a compatible iOS device with at least a camera, wireless access (either WiFi or 3G) and a story to tell. Yahoo! Reporter works with any cable or satellite provider as long as the channels are covered by our index.
How does Yahoo! Reporter work?
It’s easy! Just download the app on the iTunes store, sign in or register if you are new to Yahoo! and start reporting. Access UGC content from the ‘Featured’ section, send reports and categorise them. You can then share your reports by e-mail, SMS, Facebook and Twitter.
What are 'Assignments'?
These are themed tasks set by Yahoo! and users are invited to submit material.
Are submissions to Yahoo! Reporter always published on Yahoo! News?
The final decision on what is published is made by Yahoo!’s editorial team.
What happens if content I submit is not published on Yahoo! News?
Material may always be used at a later date. The content you have submitted can always be accessed in the ‘My reports’ section of the app. This can then be shared via e-mail or, alternatively, on Facebook or Twitter.
