Stunned Craig Brown got a gruesome shock when he opened his Dairy Milk bar - and found a moth stuck in the chocolate.

Craig, 21, says he found the winged insect embedded in the back of the chocolate bar after buying two from his local Costcutter.

Craig, of Scarborough, North Yorks, took a photo of the bar before contacting Cadbury to tell them of the ugly find.

He said:  'Luckily I opened it upside down and I saw it before anyone bit into it. The other one I bought went straight in the bin.

'Honestly when I first looked at it I thought it was one of those big bubbles of chocolate and I thought that doesn't look right. Then I saw some juice in the chocolate and I knew it was a moth straight away.'

The Dairy Milk fan claims he found the insect just moments before handing it over to one of his partner's children, on November 24.

He said: 'I thought that's disgusting. Cadbury are my favourite chocolate and I have been eating Dairy Milk for years. All I think now is that you don't know what is in the chocolate.

Craig said the find has 'dented his confidence' in Cadbury's. (SWNS)

'I think some people who find things in their chocolate will just throw it away or ring up Cadbury. It doesn't solve anything and the public are none the wiser.

'Cadbury World said send the chocolate bar in to them. I thought if I do that and it goes in the factory it will never be seen again.

‘I’m a big lover of chocolate and I'm sat checking every bar. I wouldn't buy that chocolate bar again.

'It has dented my confidence in it massively. You want to feel safe in knowing what you are eating. I'm dismantling all the chocolate I eat now.

'I've put the chocolate bar in the freezer and away from the kids.'

A spokesperson from Cadburys said: 'This sounds very unpleasant for Mr Brown and we have sent him a pre-paid envelope so that he can send the product back to us. Once it's returned, we will carry out an investigation to see how this could have occurred.'
