'It's wonderful it still fits': Man's cardigan still going strong after 55 YEARS

Mike Davies has had a lifetime of wear from his favourite cardigan - after sticking with the same piece of knitwear for 55 years.

Mike, now 69, had the jumper knitted for him by his mum back in 1959, and he’s worn it every year since he was a teenager.

Then 15 years old, Mike chose to have his cardi covered in a buffalo-pattern, while his brother, Patrick, went for a ship-themed design.

And his old faithful item of clothing still looks as good as new more than half a century on.

Mike, from Cadoxton, South Wales, credits the cardigan’s survival to his wife's care.

He said: ‘It's in the drawer with my other jumpers and when it's snowing, it's the first thing I put on.’

Impressively the avid photographer doesn't appear to have put on any weight in over five decades as it still fits him.

He thinks his mother ordered the patterns from Canada and says the cosy clothing is ‘ideal for the winter weather, especially in the snow’.
