1,216 North Staffordshire homes lose power as heavy snow sweeps in
Hundreds of homes have been left without power on a night where heavy snow has swept through North Staffordshire. Engineers are currently working on the issue in Cheadle which at the height of the incident saw 1,216 properties lose electricity.
The issue is affected scores of properties off Tean Road around Manifold Drive, Park Avenue, Mill Road, Attlee Road, and Ashbourne Road. An update from National Grid states: "We are aware of this power cut outage which was raised at 8:01pm this evening and our engineers are working to get the power returned as quickly as possible.
"We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you."

As of 8.10pm some properties had got their power back - but 935 were without. The electricity supplier says it is down to a 'fault on our high voltage network'.
