1,700-year-old baby sock sheds new light on ancient Egypt

A roughly 1,700-year-old knitted baby bootie is providing insights into the complexities and inventiveness of Ancient Egyptian textile production.

The lone striped sock was discovered in the early 1910s and is now part of the British Museum's collection.

Researchers recently analysed the foot covering with non-invasive multi-spectral imaging, and made an amazing discovery.
