10 days of repairs to Eryri gateway road start this month
Roadworks may cause hold-ups on a gateway road to Eryri (Snowdonia). From next week a section of the A5 near Capel Curig, Conwy, is to part-close for around 10 days.
Resurfacing works are planned between Bron Heulog and Pont Cyfyng east of Capel Curig. The repairs start on Tuesday, October 22, and are scheduled to continue until Monday, November 4.
The work will be carried out in the daytime between 7.30am-4.30pm. It will affect traffic between Betws-y-Coed, Bethesda and the mountains of north Eryri.

Controlling traffic flows will be a convoy system and traffic lights. This involves the use of a vehicle to lead traffic past the worksite to ensure the safety of workers.
As a result, red lights on the traffic signals may show for a period longer than normal. No diversions have been identified by Traffic Wales, which said the scheme will take “approximately 10 days”.
